 Mauricio Kagel Der Tribun voor een politieke redenaar, marsklanken en luidspreker uitgevoerd door Pit Therre Hedah in samenwerking met (h)ear (kuS, Heerlen), Intro in situ en de Opleiding Autonome Kunst/ABKM. Een politicus oefent een redevoering, die hij weldra voor zijn volk zal uitspreken. Het klassieke, oorspronkelijk als hoorspel geconcipieerde stuk Der Tribun (1979) van de Argentijns-Duitse componist, librettist en theatermaker Mauricio Kagel verschaft een intrigerend inkijkje in de mechanismen van de politieke verleidingskunst. Zelf spreekt Kagel over een onderzoek naar de typologie van de politieke redevoering, waarin de inhoud niet zelden ondergeschikt is aan zorgvuldig geënsceneerde theatrale effecten. De uitgesproken fantasiemonoloog bestaat deels uit een compilatie van historische redevoeringen. Zoals ook het type politicus, dat het stuk ten tonele voert, van alle tijden is. Pit Therre is oprichter van TAM – het ‘Theater am Marienplatz’ in het Duitse Krefeld-Fischeln, dat zich heeft gespecialiseerd in eigentijds muziektheater. Hij heeft veelvuldig met Kagel samengewerkt. A politician practises his speech which he will soon hold in front of his people. The classical piece Der Tribun (1979) was originally conceived as a radio-play and was created by the Argentinean-German composer, librettist and theatre-maker Mauricio Kagel. It provides an intriguing insight into the mechanisms of the art of political seduction. Kagel himself speaks of an investigation of the typology of a political speech, where the content is often subordinate to the carefully staged theatrical effects. The explicit imaginary monologue partially contains a compilation of historical speeches. Just like the type of politician that this piece stages, it has a timeless quality. Pit Therre is the founder of TAM, the ‘Theater am Marienplatz’ in the German town Krefeld-Fischeln, which has specialized in contemporary music theatre. He has frequently worked together with Kagel.
